Kaleo Sermon Notes: RSVP Day 9, Righteousness of Christ

[Mat 22:11-14 ESV] 11 "But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. 12 And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' 14 For many are called, but few are chosen."

Notice the first thing in this passage. The parable states that the king came in, and he looked at the guests. God is the ultimate Judge (Psalm 58:11). He is the One who examines us, and He is the One who decides between right and wrong. He has made himself clear through His Word. His demands expect perfection (Leviticus 19:2). He clothes Himself in righteousness, and the only way we can be right before Him is through His Son, Jesus Christ. Christ is our way into the party of the Kingdom of God. He is our wedding garment. Without Him we are speechless and without excuse. Put on Christ to receive His righteousness (Colossians 1:30, Philippians 3:9).

*Life Point* My own works won't do. It is Christ's righteousness that makes me whole.
