Kaleo Sermon Notes- Relationship Day 4

Shadow Casting

Our shadows are a direct reflection of who we are as light shines on us. There is no denying who we are in light of our shadow. God has a way of exposing us in His radiance. In other words, what is truly in us, in our heart, will come out as the fruits of our lives (Matthew 7:20, Luke 6:43-45).

What this means is that we have a great need to build relationships for the purpose of accountability in our lives. True friends will bring out the best in us because they can evaluate the fruit that is coming out of us in community. If we are willing to let them help us with our inevitable blind spots of weakness, we can grow and become more like Christ together as a family.

*Life Point* Don't be afraid of relationships in your life. Even though you may have been hurt in the past and realizing God's people aren't perfect, we do actually need each other for spiritual growth and progress in our faith. We are richer when we connect, build community, and show compassion!
