Bible Study Notes in Isaiah- Chapter 25

Isaiah 25

-This chapter is a song of praise for the victory of the LORD over all His foes. He is exalted and thanks should be given to His holy Name. He has worked wonders and performed His perfect plan with unadulterated faithfulness in completing His promises (Isaiah 25:1). God is strongest and will subdue any who go against Him. Because of this a strong people will glorify Him and even the ruthless nations will be forced to revere the LORD. He has been a defense for the helpless, a refuge from the storm, and a shade from the heat (Isaiah 25:2-4a). The wicked are compared to rain against a strong wall and secure wall as the LORD protects His own. He silences the song of the ruthless like a cloud shadows and gives protection from the heat of the sun (Isaiah 25:4b-5). The inclusivity of the Great King is extolled in verse six as He prepares a lavish banquet for all peoples of faith on His holy mountain. His covering is for all the nations (Isaiah 25:6-7). He will swallow up death for all time and will wipe away every tear from all faces who know Him as their Savior and Deliverer (Hosea 13:14, I Corinthians 15:54, Revelation 21:4). He removes the reproach of sin from all the people of the earth who trust in His redemption by His Word (Isaiah 25:8). In that day it will be said that He is salvation that we have waited for. We will rejoice and be glad in His rescue operation (Isaiah 25:9). While Moab (a symbol of going against God and His plan in trickery and pride) will be trodden down and destroyed, the Hand of the LORD will rest on Mount Zion and His people of faith (Isaiah 25:10-12). *Application* We who are His people will rejoice and will be glad for He alone is worthy to purchase our redemption through His shed blood and atoning sacrifice. Don’t forget the awesome benefits of being a child of God. He is victorious and gives His faithful bride the Kingdom! His covering is sufficient!
