Kaleo Sermon Notes from Sept. 7, Day 3- No Perfect People Allowed, "Greater Things"

[John 1:50-51 ESV] 50 Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, 'I saw you under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these." 51 And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

We see here in this passage that God was NOT satisfied with just a conversion to the Savior. He wanted Nathanael to see and experience "greater things than these." Nathanael certainly did as He walked with and followed the Messiah during His earthly journey and beyond. I think, based on verse 51, it safe to assume that Nathanael was present at the ascension of Christ Jesus going back to heaven when angels were definitely present as described in Acts 1:9-11.

Nathanael would not settle for an average, ordinary life. He wanted more, and God was excited to give him more, and more, and more. This is the Spirit filled life, the adventure by faith in a real-genuine Christian experience. God always wants to give you "greater things than these."

*Life Point* Don't ever be satisfied with average in your spiritual walk.
