[Matthew 5:5-8 ESV] 5 "Blessed
are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 6 "Blessed are those who
hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 7
"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8 "Blessed
are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Growth is the main emphasis of this section of Scripture. Four ways to increase spiritually we see here include:1. Service- Incredible blessing comes into our lives when we sacrificially help others out of a pure heart.
2. Personal Responsibility- The meek seek, look for God on your own without having to be guided by other people, let the Holy Spirit lead you and read His Word, step up and grow, leave the milk at some point (1 Corinthians 3:1-3, Hebrews 5:11-14), and stop letting your church experience only consist of regurgitated stuff from the pastor or preacher.
3. Community- This is where we learn mercy as we connect together in greater Kingdom efforts and experiences.
4. Generosity- Giving is the indicator of a genuinely pure heart (Matthew 6:21, Luke 12:34)
