Bible Study Notes in Psalms- Chapter 90

Psalm 90

-Theme: God is eternal, man is frail flesh. What we do with our time matters, use time wisely. Don’t live for the moment in a temporary life; dwell on God’s eternal plan.

-Historical Insight: This Psalm is a prayer attributed to Moses making it the oldest of the Psalms in Scripture.

-*Application* God is our refuge and strength (Psalm 90:1). Rely on Him who is everlasting and sovereign (Psalm 90:2). Time is of no essence to the LORD. A thousand years is like a day in His estimation (Psalm 90:4-6). All of our sins are bare in the light of His presence. He knows us and all of our ways (Psalm 90:8). We are weak, but He is strong and mighty to save when we call upon Him (Acts 2:21). One day the faithful will fly away to glory, so number your days that you may present to God a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). God’s mercy and lovingkindness is what saves us so that we can sing for joy and be glad all our days (Psalm 90:14). He overcomes and takes away the pain giving us favor and confirmation in our work (Psalm 90:15-17). Trust God and let Him control your life’s days.

Verses to Memorize: Psalm 90:12, 17
