Psalm 119 (Pe and
Tsadhe)- Verses 129-144
-*Pe Application*
Wonderful (pele’- marvelous,
extraordinary, astonishing) are the testimonies of the LORD. In other words, He
will definitely blow our finite minds with His wisdom and creative actions when
we closely observe His magnificent ways. When we unfold (pethach- opening, entrance, doorway, disclosure, communication) the
LORD’s words, they give us light. It is no wonder that Jesus made the claim
that He was the “Light of the world (John 8:12; 9:5).” By the Messiah and His
Word the simple are made wise and gain supernatural understanding. So open up
your mouth wide and drink in the Spirit of the Living God. Pant and long for
His commandments to invade your existence, and He will come with all of His
passion and grace turned straight in your direction, full attention. We are
those who love His Name. When we gravitate towards His precious Word, iniquity
no longer has dominion over us. We are set free from the bondage of sin, and we
are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb (1 Peter 1:18-19). No more oppression, no
more guilt. God’s face shines on us and in us as we learn all about Him and
walk in His ways (Colossians 1:27). Our only sorrow comes from not seeing
everyone experience the joy of the LORD through obedience to His law of love.

Application* God is righteous and His judgments are upright. He is exceedingly
faithful and true. The purity of the Word is our delight as His children.
Though we may be small and despised, we will not forget His precepts. Why?
Because the LORD’s righteousness is everlasting giving us everlasting life!
