Ephesians 5:33- …and the wife must see to it that she
respects her husband.
-The sense that this word “respects” (phobeo in the Greek, from which we get
the word phobia or fear) has this interpreted meaning: to reverence, venerate, to treat with
deference or reverential obedience. Culturally speaking this is an anomaly. As
Christian women, we are called to be countercultural, even radical, as we are
transformed into the image Christ wants.
