Kaleo Sermon Notes from Sept. 21, Day 2 - No Perfect People Allowed "Come and Change"

[Matthew 5:3 ESV] 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

This verse is all about grace. We know that Jesus gives it to those who realize and recognize that they need His free gift of grace by faith alone. Thank God that He doesn't write us off in His divine plan, but gives us His compassion when we seek it with a humble heart that knows it is poor in and of itself by its own means. In other words, the Kingdom of God is reserved for those who know that they can't make it on their own. The poor in spirit is a sign that they are relying on the sole righteousness of Christ to get them in.

God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5, Proverbs 3:34). I don't know about you, but I for one certainly don't want the Lord opposed to me. Join the Kingdom of Heaven by becoming poor in spirit!

*Life Point* Blessed are the poor in spirit, this is the way to God's amazing grace
