Kaleo Sermon Notes from Sept. 28, No Perfect People Allowed, "Becoming a Peacemaker" Day 4

[Matthew 5:9-10 ESV] 9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

 Traits of Peacemakers Part 2:

3. Peacemakers don't make religious-legalistic people- In other words, they don't create sons of hell like Jesus denounced by making converts who follow the traditions of man (Matthew 23:15, Mark 7:8, Colossians 2:8)

4. Peacemakers have diverse relationships- In other words they would often be considered non-conformists. These people go and actually talk to people who need peace with God. They are NOT the frozen chosen.

5. Peacemakers seek reconciliation- People who have a Spirit-filled life in Christ will work to make things right in their conflicts within their families, communities, work, and world. They are ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

6. Peacemakers are sometimes persecuted- When we hold to the righteous way, there is no guarantee that things in this life will always run smoothly. However, with the mind and heart of Christ, we can hold on to love and overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).

*Life Point* The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the peacemaking sons of God.
