Chapter 15
-Another sign is shown is Heaven, which was great and astounding.
There were seven angels with seven plagues (bowls), which are the last of the
judgments of God upon the earth for its wickedness (Revelation 15:1). All those
who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name (666) were
standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands singing the
song of Moses (Exodus 15:1-18) and the song of the Lamb (the greater
redemption, Revelation 5:9-10). These songs included great and amazing praises
for the deeds of God, His justice and truth, the glory of fearing Him, a
declaration of His majesty, His holiness, His worth among all the nations, and
His righteousness (Revelation 15:3-4).
-After this, John looked and the sanctuary of the tent of
witness in Heaven was opened. Out of it came the seven angels with the seven
plagues (bowls). They were clothed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes
around their chests. One of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels
seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who is eternal. And, the sanctuary
was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power. No one could
enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues were completed by the seven angels
(Revelation 15:5-8).
-*Application* God’s shekinah glory is powerful and amazing.
It’s hard for us to capture what John saw, but his descriptions let us know it
was incredible. We too can experience this kind of walk and relationship with
an All-Powerful God in our lives. When we are truly in His presence, all else
fades away and His glory is all we can see. Seek Him with all your heart and He
will give you an amazing experience too!
