Chapter 14
-This chapter starts with a heavenly chorus of the 144,000
sealed saints who had been redeemed from the earth singing a new song before
the Lamb in the spiritual Mount Zion (Hebrews 12:22, Revelation 14:1-3). It is
these who are blameless before the Lord by not defiling themselves with women
(they are virgins), and they follow the Lamb wherever He goes. They are
redeemed as first fruits for God and the Lamb, and they were completely honest
(Revelation 14:4-5).
-Three angels fly overhead of John with an eternal gospel
full of worship, a denouncement of Babylon, and a repercussion for those who
take the mark of the beast (Revelation 14:6-11). Here now is a call, which is
repeated often in the prophecy, for the endurance of the saints, those who keep
the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus (Revelation 14:12). At the
same time John heard a voice from Heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the
dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” say the Spirit, “that
they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them (Revelation
14:13)!”
-The time for the reaping of the earth then came and blood
flowed from the winepress, as high a horse’s bridle, for about 184 miles
(Revelation 14:14-20). *Application* The wrath of the Lord will come, make the
right preparations in Christ our Savior.
Verse to Memorize:
Revelation 14:7
